July 17, 2001 - Well, we had my second appointment with my doctor. I am in my 15th week. Most of the morning sickness is gone, thank goodness. I usually only feel ill at night, or if I eat too much. Therefore, I try to avoid eating too much. :) The appointment went great, considering. While Rob and I were in the waiting room, the doctor left stating that he had to run over to the hospital to check a patient. We weren't sure if he was coming back. I gained more confidence when the nurse called us back and weighed me and told me to go wait in Exam Room 4. While I was taking one of the tests (I won't torture you with which one), I heard the doctor come back and felt better about being there. He got to my exam room and let us know that he was going to have to do a C-Section on one of his patients later. We double checked that his patient was ok and got me ready to hear the heartbeat. Just as he finished putting the gel on my belly to use the doppler, the nurse knocked on the door to tell him that his patient was being rolled into the Operating Room now. He let Rob and I hear the heartbeat, cleaned me up, then checked my tests and read them to me. I have no idea what the technicalities were, but he said that all were just fine and I had nothing to worry about. :) Obviously, the doctor had to leave right after,so I didn't get much of a chance to ask him questions. We didn't want to make him any later to take care of that other patient.
That's the update at this point. I am most definately showing and will post another belly pic in the next week or so.
July 31, 2001 - Well, in the past few weeks, my belly has grown another inch. It is now getting to a point where I can not easily sit up from a laying position. lol I guess that was bound to happen eventually, right?
I also believe I felt the baby move on Sunday, July 29, 2001. It felt like very strong pins and needles (you know, like when your leg falls asleep? but stronger) and it moved from my right to left. I talked to a friend at work, Bridgett, who had her baby girl Camille about 6 months ago and she said that that is what it feels like. Therefore, I will say, "I FELT THE BABY MOVE." And yes, I am excited by that.
That's it for now, but rather fullfilling for me. :)
August 13, 2001 - Well, I've been feeling the flutters more often now. Still not the full on kicks, but that is ok. As long as I am feeling them. :) I added another half an inch to my belly. Weight wise, I've only gained 1 lb. over the initial weight I was when my family doctor congratulated me. :)
My work is starting to worry my family. Last Thursday, I was up all night working on an outage. I did get a chance to take three 20 minute catnaps, but I'm still recovering from it. I promised my family thatI would talk to the doctor about it. I really don't want to let my team down, so I hope my doctor is ok with my hours.
That's all for now, I added another picture to the belly page.
August 26, 2001 - Well, I made it to the halfway mark. I am 20 weeks today. :) Things are so far going well. I had a doctor's appointment on Thursday and it went very well. My blood pressure was 106 over 54. I am hoping that it stays low throughout the rest of the pregnancy. We heard the heartbeat again and the doctor said it was good, steady and strong. I asked him about my job and he said that he would leave it up to me, but that he feels I'm doing fine and doing all the things that I should be doing to stay relaxed. So, work stays the same. :) I'm feeling more movement now. The past two nights, when I've been trying to fall asleep, it feels like the baby is doing a marching routine in there. I also noticed that the baby will stop when I talk, so last night, I grabbed Rob's hand and just put it against my side. He was then able to feel it too. It was pretty cool. My next appointment is on September 18 and I will be having another Ultrasound then. We can't wait. We will not be finding out the sex of the baby. We want to be surprised. :)
